SEND Reference Group
Calling all SENDCOs – *an exciting new opportunity!*
Some of you may have been aware of the SEND Reference Group which has run in pre-COVID times – a really useful forum with the opportunity to discuss and produce guidance and resources to support our Devon SENDCos. I would like to take the opportunity to re-launch this group and look to be up and running again for academic year 2021-22. To give you a further flavour of this opportunity please see the information below.
What is the SEND reference group?
A group of professionals, including school SENDCos and DCC / Babcock colleagues, who work together to produce support / guidance / resources linked to key SEND areas.
How will this work?
A termly meeting (details tbc depending on the working group) but likely virtual in the first instance for Term 1.
What might we focus on?
This might vary across the year. Our initial focus project would be producing guidance for colleagues around the EHCP review process, identifying supportive CPD and developing any other resources which might be a support.
As a group we can therefore identify further topics which it might be helpful to unpick in further detail.

If you are interested in working with the Reference Group, please undertake the following – I would love to hear from you!
- Access the electronic 'Expression of Interest form' and complete.
- Please ensure you have a nomination from your Headteacher (in recognition of the time commitment).
- Please ensure you give a brief overview of an example of a SEND project you have led in your school which has been impactful.
- Return to Tanya.firstname.lastname@example.org by 10 September 2021.
