I am writing this testimonial after having worked with Babcock’s Educational Welfare Service personnel for over a year.
Throughout our time working together with the aim of improving children’s attendance and parents’ attitudes to attendance, I have found all staff to be wholly professional, personable and completely focused on their role. Both Ray and Clare have always been on the end of a phone or an email should we need any advice or assistance regarding attendance matters and I have always found their advice to be sensible, achievable and for the best of the children.
With more complex cases, Clare has worked tirelessly with parents to investigate the best ways to integrate children back into school after prolonged absence.
I was particularly impressed with the professionalism of Ray when formal meetings with parents were required after attendance statistics for two children reached worrying levels. He had outstanding relationships with the parents in what was a very difficult meeting and he also had a complete knowledge of the law and how the process would evolve to ensure the children’s attendance improved. In both cases, the children’s attendance improved as a result of Ray’s intervention.
I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending the EWO service from Babcock. Both Ray and Clare have proved themselves to be hardworking, committed and totally centred on improving the attendance of the children in our school.
