Primary and Secondary Pupil Premium Conference

Beyond Barriers

Primary and Secondary Pupil Premium Conference

Tuesday 19th March 2019 | Mercure Southgate Hotel, Exeter | 09:00 - 15:45

The attainment outcomes for pupils who are disadvantaged continues to be a challenge for all schools in all circumstances. In their report, ‘The Attainment Gap 2017,’ published in January 2018, the EEF identifies that if schools want ‘to tackle the challenge of the attainment gap [it] requires us first to understand it – both the scale and nature of the gap, as well as the factors most likely to help close it.’

We are aware that, despite many strategies and significant resources, this continues to be one of the most demanding issues in education and is something that we are collectively challenged to address.

This conference will continue to support us on our journey of exploration regarding what the barriers to achievement are and how we break these down to help children succeed. The day will provide a combination of key note speakers, with a national perspective, and workshops provided by local schools showcasing what has worked for them and how they have approached this deep rooted challenge.
