Initial course for those who have not trained in Moving and Handling previously (refresher recommended annually).

Suitable for any staff working with a child or young person who has Physical/Movement difficulties. (Not suitable for those working with children who have emotional or behavioural difficulties requiring physical interventions.)

Subjects covered: Legal requirements, risk assessment, handling plan, intimate care, personal emergency evacuation plan, how to keep your back safe, handling aids, practical techniques.

Refresher Training and Update for Moving and Handling Trainers (refresher recommended annually).

Suitable for any trainers who have completed an initial keyworker train the trainer course.

Subjects covered: Legal requirements, spinal awareness, musculoskeletal injury, looking after yourself, principles of safe handling, handling risk assessments, handling plans, methods of holding, handling aids and techniques for handling young people and children.

Attachment Based Mentoring

This course draws together research from the fields of attachment, solution focused coaching and mentoring. It aims to train staff to meet the specific needs of vulnerable children by providing them with a significant adult in school who is able to use coaching and mentoring to support their development.

Suitable for training for: SENCos, Support Staff, Teachers and Teaching Assitants.

Early Years - Setting SENDCos Forum

The Early Years setting SENDCo Forums are an opportunity to meet for updates and networking which are facilitated by the Early Years Consultant Team.

The aim of these sessions is to:
- Share information and practice
- Provide an opportunity to discuss challenges and issues in a professionally supportive environment
- Find solutions through collaborative discussion

Please note these funded forums are now open to all early years settings and schools who are in receipt of the Early Years Education Funding including school SENDCo’s where there is a nursery or governor run provision.
